Shah Industries Ltd has been manufacturing handicrafts over 50 years.Here in the picture, Father of the Nation, the late President Dr. Julius K. Nyerere, visited Shah Industries on 14 October 1977. The President admired leather work, with Mr Himat Shah and Mr Devchand Nathu Shah (on Nyerere's right) looking on.

Besides the purchase of unique Leather Crafts, Leather & Wood Carving, Batik & Furniture, you meet many Tanzanian Crafts persons at work. You will also be able to enjoy our garden and admire the various flowers we try to grow. Here are just two of the more than 30 people we presently employ.

We are in the forefront of providing employment to handicapped people in the private sector.

Tamim Saidi Tamim, having recovered from the shock of loosing both his legs due to gangrene in 1976, he joined us in 1977. We appreciate his long services. He is good in polishing and finishing Cow Horn items. Tanim has three children of whom two are enrolled in secondary schools.
